Triphala, also known as Triphala churna, is an age-old Ayurvedic herbal powder which helps cleanse the colon, smoothen the digestive system, and boost overall health. Triphala is a Sanskrit word that means “three fruits” - given that this herbal powder is a blend of three different dried fruits – Indian gooseberry or amla (Emblica officinalis), Bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica), and Haritaki (Terminalia chebula). The three dried fruits are ground and mixed together, usually in equal parts. This what makes the powder potent in antioxidants because these three fruits have long played an important part in Ayurvedic medicine.

The most powerful benefits of Triphala (an Ayurvedic herbal powder) include improving digestion, reducing signs of aging, detoxifying the body, aiding weight loss, strengthening the immune system, helping diabetic symptoms, and optimizing nutrient uptake efficiency.

The health benefits of cardamom include gastrointestinal protection, cholesterol control, anti-cancer properties, relief from cardiovascular issues, and improvement of blood circulation in the body. It is useful for curing digestive problems, dental diseases, and urinary tract infections such as cystitis, nephritis, and gonorrhea. Cardamom possesses aphrodisiac properties and is also used as a cure for impotence, erectile dysfunction, and premature ejaculation.

While cinnamon has always been known for its flavor and aroma, as a Holistic Nutritionist, I'm also thrilled to spread the news about it's health benefits. For example, one teaspoon of cinnamon packs as much antioxidant potency as a half cup of blueberries, and cinnamon has natural antimicrobial properties have been shown to fight strains of E. coli, as well as Candida yeast. This feel-good herb has also been shown in studies that it may reduce inflammation.
